Biography
Katherine “Katie” Sarkisian is a plaintiffs’ trial lawyer and Partner with Sarkisian, Sarkisian & Associates, P.C., where she devotes her practice exclusively to representing individuals and families harmed by catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death, with a particular focus on trucking and auto crash litigation. She is admitted to practice in Indiana and in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana. Since beginning her career, Katie has dedicated herself to advocacy for people whose lives have been upended by serious injury and loss, and she has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star every year from 2020 through 2026.
Katie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Loyola University Chicago in 2010, with secondary concentrations in Philosophy and Spanish. During her undergraduate studies, she served as a law clerk for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, gaining early courtroom and litigation experience. She went on to graduate cum laude from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2014, earning multiple selections to the Dean’s List and Honor Roll and volunteering her time in pro bono service to the Grand Rapids, Michigan community. Before taking the Indiana bar exam, Katie clerked for the Lake County Superior Court in Crown Point, Indiana, further deepening her understanding of how cases move through the courts.
Katie became a plaintiffs’ lawyer because she believes injured people deserve a strong, steady advocate at a time when they often feel overwhelmed, unheard, or dismissed by insurance companies. She is known as a tenacious but professional advocate—unafraid to take firm positions and push back when necessary, while always maintaining respect for the process and everyone involved. Clients can expect Katie to be direct yet compassionate, taking time to explain what is happening in their case, why it matters, and what to expect next. In litigation, she is detail-oriented and trial-focused, preparing each case as if it will be tried so that her clients are positioned as strongly as possible whether the matter resolves in settlement or in the courtroom.
Katie is an active member of the legal community. She belongs to the Women Lawyers Association (WLA)—a professional community she values for its combination of leadership, mentorship, and friendship—as well as the Porter County Bar Association, Lake County Bar Association, American Association for Justice, Indiana State Bar Association, and Indiana Trial Lawyers Association. Through these organizations, she stays engaged with developments in personal injury law and continues to hone her skills as a trial lawyer and advocate.
Born and raised in Northwest Indiana and a graduate of Valparaiso High School, Katie has deep roots in the region she serves. Outside the office, she and her husband enjoy spending time with their families, hiking, and playing pickleball. She comes from a close-knit family and works alongside her father Greg, her brothers Kane and Chase, and her cousin Arman at the firm—an extension of the firm’s culture of collaboration and its commitment to treating clients like family.
